Effective January 2026. Fees taken from each state’s Secretary of State office; verified annually. Biennial-state report fees in some rows are shown as annualized averages — the actual filing happens every other year. Publication costs in NY, AZ, and NE vary by county and registered-agent setup; see each state’s row note before relying on the headline number.
We currently file in New York. California, Florida, Texas, and Delaware flows are built and will reopen once we’ve verified each state’s filing portal end to end.
Pricing FAQ
What does $200 actually get you?
Is the $200 the only cost?+
For the initial LLC filing, yes — $200 is the entire fee New York charges for Articles of Organization, and we add nothing on top. There are recurring costs after formation that we'll surface on your dashboard: the NY biennial statement ($9 every two years), the annual LLC filing fee (Form IT-204-LL, $25 minimum based on income), and the one-time publication requirement (typically $400–$2,000 depending on county).
What's the New York publication requirement?+
Within 120 days of formation, NY requires you to publish a formation notice in two newspapers (one daily, one weekly) designated by your county clerk, for six consecutive weeks. Costs range from $400 in upstate counties to $2,000+ in NYC counties. We track the deadline from day one and walk you through the cheapest legal options.
Do you charge for the Operating Agreement?+
No. The Operating Agreement builder is included. You answer a guided questionnaire, we pre-fill the standard NY clauses, you review and edit, and you download the signed PDF. If you later need to amend it (add a member, change management, etc.), the amendment is also included.
Do you make money from anything other than the filing?+
No. We pass the $200 state fee directly to NY DOS. We pay Stripe ~$6 in payment processing. We make $0 on the filing itself. We've chosen not to take affiliate revenue from registered-agent services, business banks, or compliance subscriptions — so when we recommend Mercury or Northwest, it's because we'd actually pick them, not because we earn a kickback.
Why are you only available in New York?+
Because we'd rather be deep on one state than shallow on fifty. NY has the most complicated formation process in the country (publication requirement, biennial statement, the IT-204-LL income brackets) and we know it cold. California, Florida, Texas, and Delaware flows are built and gated; they'll reopen once we've verified each state's filing portal end-to-end.
What if I want a registered agent service?+
Most NY founders don't need one — you can be your own registered agent if you have a NY address and you're available during business hours. If you don't (you're filing from outside NY, or you don't want your home address on public record), Northwest Registered Agent is who we'd pick. We earn $0 from this recommendation; we mention them by name because they're who we'd use ourselves.
